A dean’s certification or college certification is required by a small number of law schools. The primary purpose of this requirement is disciplinary clearance. If a law school requires a dean’s certification as part of the application process, and it does not include a form in its application materials, than a written authorization from the student is necessary to process the dean’s certification.
