You should use your discretion in designating courses as pass/fail.
The pass/fail option does not provide graduate schools and/or employers with an accurate measure of your level of success in the class. This is true because a Pass (P) can represent any passing grade between an A and a D. In addition, most graduate programs require letter grades for mandatory pre-requisite courses.
Courses taken under the pass/fail grading option do not count for General Education requirements and most major requirements. Please speak with an advisor before designating a course as pass/fail.
