Staff:
Health Service staff consists of physicians, including a psychiatrist, nurse practitioners, nurses, health educators, and alcohol and other drugs counselor, and HIV counselor and administrative staff.

Quick Facts you should know about Health Services:

  1. Health Services operates as a walk-in clinic, providing primary health care.
  2. Appointments: appointments are scheduled after initial visit with a nurse (often times medical appointments are not necessary and the problem or illness can be taken care of by the nurse). Students who have acute or urgent needs will be seen as a "work-in" appointment as soon as possible. There is a resting are where students can lay down and rest while waiting.
  3. All services are confidential, only with signed informed consent by the student can parents/guardians, professors, etc. have information regarding a student's visit.
  4. For students only. Employees cam access care in emergencies.
  5. Women's Health clinic: pelvic examinations, FREE pregnancy testing, birth control, emergency contraception.
  6. Self Care Cold Counter: free over the counter cold products, available at the reception desk.
  7. Vaccine Clinic: most vaccines are FREE, such as Flu, Chickenpox, PPD, MMR, Tetanus. Other vaccines, Meningitis $70, Hepatitis B $38 (need 3 doses),
  8. Travel Medicine Clinic: vaccines at various costs, call for prices.
  9. Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI's): testing and treatment for men and women, exams are FREE but may have some laboratory charges (i.e. gonorrhea, chlamydia, herpes culture, pap smear).
  10. Student health fee covers exams and treatment. There are no added charges to your visit with the exception of laboratory fees that are at a reduced rate (55% discount). The Health Service does not bill students for services.
  11. HIV Testing: FREE and confidential HIV antibody testing, by appointment only.
  12. Health Education: two health educators are on staff to meet with students one-on-one or in groups regarding wellness issues, such as: tobacco cessation, birth control options, STI testing, etc.
  13. Alcohol and Other Drug Program: alcohol counselor on staff to meet with students about their questions or concerns regarding alcohol use.
