Internal Applicant Information

Am I an Internal Applicant ?

Under the Binghamton University UUP Internal Promotion Procedure there are two groups of employees considered as internal applicants:

  • Tier 1 internal applicant: a UUP professional employee with at least one (1) year of service on the basis of a Term, Permanent or Temporary appointment.  In the case of a temporary appointment, it includes only those who have come to their position as a result of an approved Affirmative Action search process.  Tier 1 internal applicants are given first review and consideration.
  • Tier 2 internal applicant: University employees represented by classified service bargaining units, designated management confidential or Research Foundation employees with at least one (1) year of service.

All others are considered external applicants.
