What Smart Form does the department complete to put a student on the payroll?

Answer:

In Oracle, the department completes the Hire/Rehire or Concurrent hire Smart Form.

When will I receive my first pay check?

Answer:

Employees on the student payrolls, including Federal Work Study and Student Assistants, are paid on a three-week lag payroll.  If your department's hiring information was received by Human Resources by the appropriate payroll deadline, you would receive your first paycheck three to four weeks after your start date, then every two weeks thereafter. For example, an employee who begins to work on 9/17/2009 would receive their first payment on 10/22/2009.  Late receipt of hiring information delays the first check; however, all hours worked should be documented on time sheets and will be paid.

Where do I go to pick up my pay check?

Answer:

The Payroll Distribution Center is located in AD 240.  You may pick up your paycheck or direct deposit advice between the hours of 9am and 3pm, Monday through Friday on normal business days, 10am-2pm during the Summer.  Photo ID is required.

I handed in my timesheet but haven't been paid yet---why?

Answer:

If the hiring department had submitted the Smart Form, it's possible that the time sheets may have not arrived (or came in late) for a particular pay period.

         Answer:

Yes, as long as you have the necessary working papers required by the NYS Dept. of Labor.  Further information about obtaining working papers can be found at this link:
