Retirement is a wonderful time in your life and as a BU retiree you can retire with health insurance. The NY State Health Insurance Program (NYSHIP) will make sure that you don't have to worry about your health insurance coverage as you enter this new phase of your life.

The EMPIRE PLAN is a comprehensive health insurance program for NY's public employees and their families and coverage is worldwide.
HEALTH MAINTENEANCE ORGANIZATIONS (HMOs)
Most NYSHIP enrollees have a choice among HMOs. You may enroll - or continue to be enrolled - in any NYSHIP-approved HMO that serves the area where you live. You may not be enrolled in an HMO outside your area.
