passionate about
global awareness
What do we want our world to look like?
We want it to be one where we all see beyond our own borders, where
understanding the hopes, dreams, cultures and concerns of other people
is the norm; where global awareness, respect and competence allows
people of all backgrounds to work together effectively; where the
richness of our diversity is embraced; and where knowledge grows through
global interactions.
We are obligated to prepare our students to lead in a world where
economies and cultures are intertwined - and we are, through innovative
and comprehensive programs. We are proud of the seven national awards
we've received recognizing what we are accomplishing on the global
stage, but there is more to be done.
The future of our world is in their hands.
Academics
Binghamton students are creating the future of our world – a world we all know is getting smaller every day. That’s why Binghamton University’s commitment to international education begins with the educational experiences we can provide to our students – experiences that include over 450 study abroad opportunities in more than 50 countries, opportunities to study languages both native to their heritage and not, area studies programs that focus on specific regions of our world, the innovative Languages Across the Curriculum Program, dual-degree programs with other nations -- and much more.
Programs
Our goal for our students: global competency. We want them to be able to contribute through their talents and creativity no matter what they do or where they are -- and we provide the means for them to do so through our degree programs, our global studies minor, combined degree programs and other global culture initiatives.
Services
International students – nearly 2,000 of them from more than 90 countries – flock to Binghamton University for its academic excellence and customer-service orientation. Whether it’s undergraduate or graduate admissions or help from the International Student and Scholar Services office, international students can find the help they need to make the transition from home to Binghamton.
Resources
International experiences, whether on campus or around the globe, can be found at Binghamton University. But how does one figure it all out? By taking advantage of the resources on campus to help make decisions about transitioning to a new culture, learning about career opportunities with global implications, researching in the library and lining up internships or funding for study abroad experiences.
