How to choose a Post - Completion OPT Start Date
Spring 2013 Graduates

1) Start Date must occur no later than 60 days after your program completion date.

If Program Completion Date is …	------>	OPT Start Date MUST be on or before
May 19th, 2013	------>	July 18th, 2013

2) After submitting the completed OPT Academic Advisor's form to the ISSS office, it will take 7–10 business days (approximately 2 weeks) to create an OPT I-20 for you.

3) It takes USCIS Service Centers approximately 10-12 WEEKS (3 months) to process your OPT Application and issue the EAD card.

If you mail your application to USCIS by the following dates…	You can expect to receive your EAD card around this time:
February 19^th – February 26^th	May 7^th – May 14^th
February 27^th – March 6^th	May 15^th – May 22^nd
March 7^th – March 14^th	May 23^rd – May 30^th
March 15^th – March 22^nd	May 31^st – June 7^th
March 23^rd –March 30^th	June 8^th –June 15^th
March 31^st – April 7^th	June 16^th – June 23^rd
April 8^th – April 15^th	June 24^th – July 1^st
April 16^th – April 23^rd	July 2^nd – July 9^th
April 24^th – May 1^st	July 10^th – July 17^th
May 2^nd – May 9^th	July 18^th – July 25^th
May 10^th – May 17^th	July 26^th – August 2^nd
May 18^th – May 25^th	August 3^rd – August 10^th
May 26^th – June 2^nd	August 11^th– August 18^th
June 3^rd – June 10^th	August 19^th – August 26^th
June 11^th – June 18^th	August 27^th – September 3^rd
June 19^th – June 26^th	September 4^th – September 11^th
June 27^th – July 4^th	September 12^th – September 19^th
July 5^th – July 12^th	September 20^th – September 27^th
July 13^th – July 18^th	September 28^th – October 3^rd

Remember! If you will graduate on May 19th 2013, your application must arrive at the USCIS Service Center no later than July 18th, 2013!

Be sure to mail your application to meet the July 18th deadline! Your application will not be accepted by USCIS after that deadline.
