Binghamton University, as a state-assisted institution, offers an excellent education at an affordable price. International students are required, as part of the application process, to show that they have sufficient funds available to support themselves during their studies. The amount and source of funds are also shown on the Certificate of Eligibility(I-20 or DS-2019) needed to apply for F-1 or J-1 visas.
The cost of attending Binghamton University changes each year, due to fee increases and other inflationary factors. In addition, students planning to bring a spouse and/or children are required to show additional funds for those individuals.

At the present time, the vast majority of financial aid for BU undergraduate applicants is based on financial need, and is restricted to applicants who are either U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Therefore, undergraduate international students should be aware that their academic and living costs will need to be provided by personal or family funds, or a private sponsor.

A limited number of part-time employment opportunities on campus are available to international students, but the earnings from such employment will, at best, only cover incidential expenses. Click here for information on employment for international students.
