Fall 2013 International Student Orientation:
International students who have been admitted for the Fall 2013 semester are expected to arrive at the University no later than the following to begin orientation and course registration:

· Graduate Students – no later than Thursday, August 15 (some graduate programs may require students to arrive somewhat earlier than this date)

· Dual Diploma students from Turkey – no later than Saturday, August 17

· Exchange students – no later than Sunday, August 18

· All other Undergraduate students – no later than Monday, August 19

If you are planning to live off campus, we advise you to arrive prior to August 19 in order to locate housing. If you will be living in University housing, we recommend that you bring a sheet, pillow case, pillow, blanket and towel with your for your first few days. Additional bedding may be purchased after your arrival.

Here are some things you may find helpful to know now:

1. Registering for Your Courses: You will register for classes during Orientation, on Thursday and Friday, August 22 and 23, 2013. During Orientation you will be able to meet with academic advisors who will help you prepare your course registration. Classes for the Fall 2013 Semester begin on Monday, August 26, 2013.

3. Arrange Your Housing:
Graduate Students:
All graduate students must live off-campus in the local community. Binghamton University does not provide housing for graduate students, even on a temporary basis.

Undergraduate Students Who Plan to Live On Campus

All freshman students must live on-campus.
If you plan to live on-campus in a residence hall (dormitory) you need to pay your housing deposit and reserve your room before you arrive at Binghamton University.

Undergraduate Students Who Plan to Live Off-Campus:
If you are an undergraduate student who plans to live off-campus you will want to visit the Binghamton, NY area before Orientation to arrange your apartment. Be sure to read all email messages you receive from the International Student and Scholar Services Office at Binghamton University! In June, July and August we will be sending you a series of important emails to help you prepare for your travel and arrival at Binghamton University. Be sure to check your email frequently and read all messages from isss@binghamton.edu, our office email account. Let us know if you have any questions! Spring 2014 International Student Orientation: International students who have been admitted for the Spring 2014 semester are expected to arrive at the University no later than Wednesday, January 22, 2014 to begin a period of orientation and course registration.

Some graduate programs may require students to arrive somewhat earlier than this date. Exchange students and Dual Diploma students from Turkey may have slightly earlier arrival dates than January 22, 2014. Classes begin Monday, January 27, 2014.
