Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program
The Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program (McNair Scholars Program) is a Federal TRiO Programs. The Federal TRiO Programs are educational opportunity outreach programs designed to motivate and support students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
TRiO includes six outreach and support programs targeted to serve and assist low-income, first-generation college students and students with disabilities to progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to post-baccalaureate programs.
Success Stories
Dr. Rodriguez graduated from Binghamton University in 2003 with a B.S. in Human Development. As a McNair Scholar, she participated in the McNair Scholars Summer Research Program under the mentorship of Ms. Mary Raymondi Daly, formerly of Human Development, and presented her research at the Annual McNair Scholars Research Conference. Dr. Rodriguez went on to earn a M.S. in The Cultural Foundations of Education (2005), M.A. in Sociology (2006) and a PhD in Sociology with distinctions in Women and Gender Studies (2010) from Syracuse University.
