The Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program (McNair Scholars Program) is a Federal TRiO Programs. The Federal TRiO Programs are educational opportunity outreach programs designed to motivate and support students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Juan Cuadra
2012

began his undergraduate career at Rockland Community College, receiving his A.S. in Mathematics and Science. He worked as an undergraduate research assistant at BU in 1999 through the NIH funded Bridges to the Baccalaureate program. John transferred to Binghamton in Spring 2002 and graduated in 2005 with a B.A. in Biological Sciences. Dr. Cuadra went on to earn his PhD in Biological Sciences (2012) with distinctions in Physical and Chemical Interactions between Pioneering Oral Bacteria from Binghamton University. John is married and the proud father of two sons and a daughter.

Grizelda Rodriguez
2010

graduated from Binghamton University in 2003 with a B.S. in Human Development. As a McNair Scholar, she participated in the McNair Scholars Summer Research Program under the mentorship of Ms. Mary Raymondi Daly, formerly of Human Development, and presented her research at the Annual McNair Scholars Research Conference.  Dr. Rodriguez went on to earn a M.S. in The Cultural Foundations of Education (2005), M.A. in Sociology (2006) and a PhD in Sociology with distinctions in Women and Gender Studies (2010) from Syracuse University.
