Binghamton University alums to share technical advice
The Thomas J. Watson School of Engineering and Applied Science at Binghamton University in partnership with the University’s chapter of the Society of Women Engineers, is sponsoring a special educational exchange at 3 p.m. Friday, October 11, in Lecture Hall 8 on the campus. The event, titled “Beyond the Classroom,” is free and open to the public.
The exchange will feature University alums in a discussion about their experiences since graduation. From recent graduates to corporate leaders, the women will share stories with students and alumni about their challenges, goals and successes, providing advice and inspiration to other women about to launch technical careers.
Diana J. Bendz, senior location executive at IBM Corp. Endicott, will introduce the BU alum panel which includes Geraldine MacDonald, vice president of Global Access Networks, America Online, Inc.; Sedessia Spivey, president of S & W Innovative Solutions, Inc.; and Dawn Sutherlin, process engineer-laser safety officer at Corning, Inc.
