MRC Programs and Services

Core Services

The MRC provides diversity training and education for the university staff and students using the Building Bridges to Cultural Competency Program.  Training sessions are offered for staff four times annually.  Student trainings target student leaders and staff on campus such as Orientation advisors, residential assistants, and new students.

The MRC facilitates programs that fall under four primary programmatic initiatives;

The MRC provides the Culture Connects Program Grant which is designed to promote collaborative efforts in programming among cultural organizations of diverse backgrounds.  Student groups compete for funding to conduct programs that seek to educate the entire campus community.  The MRC Advisory Committee determines the recipient organization(s) for grant funding each month.

The MRC is a resource center in that we directly provide funds to cultural student organizations on campus seeking to provide programs that are educational, culturally inclusive and encourage diversity within the university community.

The Multicultural Resource Center supports programs observing Black History Month, Latin Heritage Month, Women's History Month, and the Festival of Light Celebration in honor of all cultural and religious holidays.
