
Minimum total = 126 credit hours, with 42 credit hours of music courses for the major.
1. Theory & Musicianship - 20 credits (4 semesters)
2. History - 16 credits (4 semesters)
3. Electives - 8 credits (2 semesters at the 300 or 400 level). Those with a double major are exempt from one 4-credit elective.
4. Ensembles - 4 semesters (0, 1, 2 credits per semester)
Minimum total = 132 credit hours, with 86 credit hours of music courses for the performance major. Offered in piano, organ, harpsichord, voice, all strings, woodwinds, brass, or percussion.
1. Theory & Musicianship - 22 credits (6 semesters)
2. History - 16 credits (4 semesters)
3. Electives - 12 credits
4. Performance - 28 credits in primary concentration, 2 credits in secondary concentration, 6 credits for junior and senior recitals.
5. Ensembles - 0 credits (8 semesters)
Admission to the Bachelor of Music degree program will be open to students already enrolled in Harpur College who show potential in performance; applications to the BMus program will be subject to approval on the basis of an audition during the second semester of the Freshman year or, at the latest, the beginning of the Sophomore year.

3. Ensembles - 2 semesters
These courses are intended for students for whom music studies, whether in ensembles, studio, or the classroom represent an enriching complement to other areas of endeavor.
