Albert Dekin, 66, died at his home Jan. 28. Well known for his work assessing the archaeological, historical and cultural resources damage caused by the Exxon Valdez oil spill for the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service, Dekin served as director of the Public Archaeology Facility for 11 years.

University Health Service has 500 doses of seasonal influenza vaccine as well as several hundred doses of both the injectable and nasal H1N1 vaccine, and is now offering these vaccines to faculty, staff, retirees and other workers on the Binghamton campus first-come, first-served while supplies last on an appointment basis at the Health Service. There is no charge for either vaccine, but an appointment is required by calling 777-2221. Appointments can be made between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, Dec. 23 and 24, and Jan. 4-15. Consent forms for the H1N1 vaccine are available at http://www2.binghamton.edu/health/document/Screening-Consent-H1N1-Form.pdf and should be completed and brought with you to your appointment. Consent forms for the seasonal vaccine will be available at the Health Service upon arrival.Students can now visit University Health Service to receive their free H1N1 vaccination during walk-in hours or by appointment in the afternoons. Both injectable and nasal vaccines are available. Students should bring a completed vaccine consent form and photo ID with them.The vaccine consent form can be downloaded from the H1N1 updates page.
