Psychology professor Steven Jay Lynn has been promoted to distinguished professor, a tenured University ranking conferred by the SUNY Board of Trustees and the highest academic rank within SUNY.

$1.4M grant to boost interdisciplinary research
Binghamton University has been awarded a four-year, $1.4 million grant by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) to fund undergraduate interdisciplinary research opportunities around the theme of solving problems in the life sciences. HHMI is a nonprofit medical research organization that ranks as one of the nation’s largest philanthropies.

Humanities institute names 17 fellows
