EAP offers variety of wellness programs
The Employee Assistance Program will present a number of workshops for faculty, staff, retirees and family members this semester.

“Almost (!) Everything a Parent Needs to Know about Healthy Human Sexuality” will begin at noon Thursday, March 1, in UUW-324 with presenter Marjorie Pietraface.

“Eldercare Issues” will begin at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, in UUW-324 with Judy Bobinski of the Broome County Office for Aging. That session is co-sponsored with Human Resources and reservations are required. Contact Alison Gierlach at 777-6625 to sign up.

“Grief and Loss” will be the topic at noon Thursday, March 29, in UUW-324 with Heather Hubeney.

There will also be a Healthy Cooking Extravaganza and Demo with John Enright, executive chef of Sodexho, at 11:45 a.m. Thursday, April 5, in Dickinson Dining Hall. Reservations are required. Call EAP at 777-6650 to sign up.

Purim Carnival scheduled March 1
The annual campus Purim Carnival will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 1, in the East Gym.

The carnival, which is open to the public, features game booths, rides, attractions, music and food, including unlimited free humentashen (jelly-filled cookies). A $3 admission fee includes all of the rides and attractions.

The carnival benefits a variety of charities. For more information, call Chabad House at 797-0015.

Maintenance planned on University Web site
The Binghamton University Web site server will undergo routine maintenance beginning at 3 a.m. Friday, March 2, causing the www.binghamton.edu site to be unavailable for a few hours. The maintenance is expected to be complete by the start of the business day.

Nominations sought for Boyd community awards
Nominations are being accepted for the Michael V. Boyd Community Awards, which are presented to an undergraduate student and student organization whose leadership has fostered and promoted an understanding and appreciation of a diverse and inclusive university community.

Recipients will be recognized May 3 at the XCELsior Awards Program/Dinner.

Nomination/application forms, due by 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, are available at http://eop.binghamton.edu and in the Educational Opportunity Program Office, SW-233, and the EOP Tutorial Center, LN-2445.

Corporate trainer to lead workshop
A seminar titled “How to Supervise People and Lead a Team” will show you how to find good employees in a tight labor market, motivate unmotivated people, legally hire and fire, eliminate childish behavior and sharpen your leadership skills.

Corporate trainer Glenn Shepard will lead the workshop from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday, April 19, in the Public Service Programs Center. Registration costs $169. To sign up, call 777-6857.
