Sheila Doyle promoted within external affairs
Sheila Doyle has been promoted to associate vice president for external affairs.
Doyle joined the division in 2000 as assistant vice president for finance and management and associate executive director of the Binghamton University Foundation. She has accepted increasing responsibilities within the division and served as interim executive director of the Foundation from July 2006 to August 2007.
In her new role, she will serve as chief financial officer and chief operating officer within the Division of External Affairs and for the Foundation. In addition, she will continue to serve as associate executive director of the Foundation and executive director of the Binghamton University Housing Corp.
DeFleur appointed to talent task force
President Lois B. DeFleur has been appointed to New York State First Lady Silda Wall Spitzer’s “I Live New York” Talent Task Force.
The group will develop strategies for attracting and retaining young professionals upstate.
“The ‘I Live New York’ Talent Task Force is an important initiative for the state and particularly for the Southern Tier,” DeFleur said. “Recruiting and retaining a high-quality workforce is key to the future economic prosperity of the Greater Binghamton region, and Binghamton University is in a unique and strategic place to assist in this area.”
