What's the buzz?? Check your e-mail
Campuswide announcements will be delivered daily on Dateline for faculty and staff and as needed on the new B-Line listserv for students. The listservs will follow a format that uses headlines and short paragraphs to allow readers to make quick judgments about information in the mailings. If longer messages or forms must be delivered, the items will be posted online as web pages or pdf files.
Initially, all faculty and staff will be subscribed to Dateline, but will be given the option of unsubscribing. Students will be subscribed to B-Line. All postings will also be published on the Web.
“We hope that faculty and staff will see the value of receiving Dateline to stay informed about what’s happening on the campus,” said Anita Knopp Doll, interim associate vice president for communications and marketing. “We realize that not all posted items will be of interest to all readers, but believe that this is a more ecological and economical way to share information than distributing paper copies.”
Dateline and B-Line will be compiled daily by the Office of Communications and Marketing. Requests for postings can be sent to dateline@binghamton.edu or bline@binghamton.edu.
Departments and divisions are encouraged to do targeted emails as needed. The policy was adopted by senior administrators following a recommendation by an e-mail task force. InsideBU will continue to be published weekly.
