SUNY approves new tuition policy
“A rational tuition policy would enable families and the university to plan for the future,” King said. “It would help respond to financial pressure, support its enrollment growth, fund quality improvement initiatives and, most importantly, enable us to preserve and enhance the quality of education we provide to students.”
SUNY tuition, raised this academic year for the first time since 1995 from $3,400 to $4,350 a year, continues to be lower than most campuses in New England, Mid-Atlantic and Midwestern states. Approval of the plan is the first step in a process, which includes public and legislative hearings and meetings of the SUNY board.
