Nursing students conduct disaster drill Friday
Responders will be pulled in from Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center’s emergency room, Broome Volunteer Emergency Services, Town of Union Volunteer Emergency Services, the Vestal Volunteer Emergency Squad, the Vestal Fire Department and Superior Ambulance Service. Additional support will be provided by the Broome County hazardous materials team, the Red Cross of Broome County and the Army Nurse Corps.
“Victims” of the collision will be transported to the East Gym, where nursing students will evaluate their injuries. Counselors will also be on hand to work with “victims” and others who witnessed or were affected by the collision.
Other Binghamton University services involved in the drill include Harpur’s Ferry, the Office of Environmental Health and Safety and University Police.
