SOM announces case competition winners
Fifteen teams of students were given the same business case to review and, after a week of preparation, participated in first-round judging. Three teams were then selected to move forward to the final round on April 14, when a panel of judges selected from the business community evaluated finalists’ presentations.
Judges were Mark Knaul, station manager for Airborne Express; Joseph Barbuto, director of sales at Maines Paper & Food Services; Stephen Raube-Wilson, executive director of the Binghamton Philharmonic; and Richard D’Attilio, executive director of the Broome County Industrial Development Agency.
In selecting the winning team, judges considered three factors: content of the presentation, delivery and communication skills, and how well the team handled follow-up questions. The winning team was awarded a $500 prize.
