Ballet Nacional de Cuba opens Anderson season
The internationally renowned Ballet Nacional de Cuba will open the Anderson Center's 2003-04 season at 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, on the concert theater stage.
The company will perform a mixed repertory, including the classical one-act ballet Les Sylphides, with music by Chopin; the expressive male dance in Canto Vital, with music by Mahler; and Lorca?s Blood Wedding.
The ballet, which has returned to the United States on a coast-to-coast tour, will be under the direction of world-famous ballerina, Alicia Alonso, who founded the company in 1948.
