Music, dance, theatre among 2003-04 offerings
Using a theme of Time, Talent and Treasure, the University Music Department's 2003-04 season will span a collection of classical, jazz and ensemble offerings. The crown jewel of the season is a performance by the Duke Ellington Orchestra at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 6, in the Anderson Center Concert Theater.
Jordan and Brown to headline music season
Jazz singer Sheila Jordan and bassist Cameron Brown will appear at 8 p.m. Saturday, September 20, in FA-Watters Theater. They will also present a jazz vocal and instrumental workshop earlier that day at noon in the AC-Chamber Hall.
International films on tap for Harpur Film Series
Films from China, Israel and Canada are among the offerings of this year Harpur Film Society. Eight films will be shown in the series, which offers showings at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Sunday in LH-6. The cost is $3 at the door or $13 for the series or students and senior citizens; and $16 for the general public.
Musicals, Greek play on stage this season
Musicals and comedies and a special production directed by actress Lydia Koniordou, will be part of the fare for the 2003-04 season for the University theatre program. Students stage the productions with direction by University faculty or guest artists.
Opera, ballet, circus arts to fill Anderson stage
Opera, ballet, classical music and some circus artistry will be part of the Anderson Center's 2003-04 season. As in years past, the Anderson Center has again drawn acts from around the world for what it is calling a Colorful Kaleidoscope of Sight and Sound.
