BU to celebrate National Student Employment Week April 11-17
The week, which this year will have a theme of “Paving Paths to Future Careers,” will include an annual celebration from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, April 15, in UU-133. Refreshments will be served.
“Student employees here make up such a significant amount of the workforce and make it possible for the University to run efficiently,” said Ramona Cornell, coordinator for student employment. “They should be recognized for all the work they do. Sometimes people don’t realize how much the students give to the University.”
During the celebration, which in the past has attracted about 200 participants, six student employees will be chosen as Student Employees of the Year. Awards will be presented to four undergraduates, one graduate student and one off-campus student. Awards are open to all workers; winners will receive tickets to Loew’s Movie Theater, along with a framed certificate. An award will also be presented for supervisor of the year.
