BU launches on-line alumni community
With an on-line directory accessible only by Binghamton alums, a career networking module that will allow alums to share professional expertise with students and alumni, an on-line giving application that accepts gifts and pledge payments and an e-mail forwarding service, the new service will speed communication and strengthen ties for alumni.
Rose Frierman, senior associate director of Alumni and Parent Relations, said the launch has been in the making for over a year. “It’s been a huge undertaking,” she said. “We feel it’s the best of its kind due to all of the time and effort we put into making it right for Binghamton. It won’t replace what we already do but it will complete the circle of communication for our alumni.”
The site will be up and running Monday, March 1. Find it at www.bconnectalumni.binghamton.edu Demonstrations of the new service are scheduled from 9-10 a.m. and 2-3 p.m. Friday, March 5 and from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, March 11, in AD-148.
