SEHD continues series on development opportunities in administration
Each workshop will held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 218-222 Water St., Binghamton, third floor. Completion meets course requirements for the Certificate in Administration Program. Workshops include:
June 8 — Designing Grant Evaluations. Examine the evaluation required in federal, state and foundation grant applications. Instructor will be Daniel McCormack. Participants will critique evaluation sections from actual grant applications, develop responses to a series of questions generally asked by funding agencies, decide who should be involved in developing and implementing the evaluation plan and learn how to use the required evaluation to improve project results.
June 15 — Essential External Organization Communications. Focus on strategies to improve the overall communication potential of organizations. Issues addressed will include why communication is crucial to the long-term success of organizations; evaluating direct and indirect messages; developing new stakeholders and strategies for organizational growth; utilizing public speaking and media opportunities; and designing a plan for success. Instructor will be Karel Kurst-Swanger.
June 23 — Effective Organizational Marketing. Learn the fundamentals of marketing including how to put together an effective marketing plan and use gorilla marketing and other budget conscious techniques. Hands-on activities will be focused on areas of highest impact, including advertising/promotions, public/media relations, sales, customer service and customer satisfaction.
