Faculty Senate meets, hears comments regarding University’s latest Strategic Plan
Richard Lee, chair of the Faculty Senate Executive Committee, brought forward a series of items that a senate ad hoc sub-committee had identified as areas of concern, including the plan’s emphasis on entrepreneurial spirit, which the ad hoc committee noted may be more challenging for some areas of the campus community than for others.
The senate heard concerns related to a lack of opportunity for faculty participation the the draft’s preparation. However, it was noted, the draft presents a valuable opportunity to discuss the University’s future.
Faculty will have another opportunity to discuss the draft at next week’s faculty meeting.
