Studio to be renamed in honor of Pete Gruber

The campus community is invited to remember colleague and friend Christian “Pete” Gruber, professor emeritus of English, who died August 31, 2003, at the age of 82.

Gruber’s legacy to Harpur College, Studio B in the Fine Arts Building, will be renamed the Christian P. Gruber Theater at a dedication ceremony at 3 p.m. Friday, September 10. The ceremony will be held at Studio B. Anyone planning to attend should contact Sharon Burdick at 777-6799 or sburdick@binghamton.edu.

Honored speakers will include President Lois B. DeFleur, Harpur College Dean Jean-Pierre Mileur, theatre professors John E. Vestal and Don Boros, Harpur alumni Eugene Flood ’56, and son, Christian P. Gruber Jr., PhD ’71. A reception will follow the dedication in Studio A.
