President Lois B. DeFleur will lay a wreath in the courtyard and deliver brief remarks.
At 8:46 a.m. Saturday, September 11, University Police will lower the American flag in front of the Couper Administration building to half mast.
“Although it’s been three years since we experienced the tragedy of September 11, we still remember our alumni whose lives were cut short that day,” said DeFleur. “We miss these talented, vital, creative individuals. In the days following September 11, the University community was united in its loss, as well as by a hope for a better future through education and outreach.”
The Memorial Courtyard, designed by Michael Radner ’86, is located in the Fine Arts building courtyard. It was dedicated October 12, 2002.
“This simple ceremony and our quiet, beautiful Memorial Courtyard provide a setting to reflect on the sacrifices that many have made during and since September 11,” said DeFleur.
