Homecoming 2005...a touch of the ’80s!
Since last fall, about two-dozen members of the campus community have been meeting to develop a homecoming celebration that would appeal to students, alumni, faculty and staff. They’re proud to say that the schedule for the festivities will have something for everyone.
“We’ve worked very hard in pulling together a program that has a great mix of events for alums and students,” said Jack Causseaux, chair of the Homecoming committee. “There are also many events that bring both groups together, providing the opportunity for students to connect with alumni. There’s just a great exchange of information all weekend between the two groups.”
In keeping with this year’s theme —“Back to the Eighties” — the Home-coming committee is planning a full schedule of ’80s-styled activities including karaoke challenges and contests. As always, the popular Baxter’s Barbecue, the ‘Brain Train” parade, the Black Student Union fashion show and the “Greek God” contest are also on the schedule. Late Nite Madness, fireworks and the student variety show will round out a jammed-packed weekend of activity.
