1960s alumni gear up for homecoming
The group of high-profile alumni who graduated in 1964, ’65 and ’66, in the midst of war protests and civil unrest, established Binghamton’s Stepping on the Coat tradition and will be headquartered in UU-East Lounge during Homecoming Weekend. Special activities for the mid-’60s group will include a gathering at Sharkey’s Restaurant in Binghamton, sessions with screenwriters Andrew Bergman ’65 and Richie Walter ’65 on the movie business and screen-writing, storytelling by author Rafe Martin ’66, a skit by Marcia Pearlstein ’66, a session with poker pro and magazine editor Jay Lovinger ’66, a presentation on alternative energy sources with co-reunion organizer Bob Freeston ’65 and a talk led by Rutgers provost Steve Diner ’66.
Radio/TV producer Tom Friedman ’65 and photographer Alan Goldsmith ’65 will shoot video all weekend.
In addition to the mid-’60s group, classes from 1955, 1975, 1980, 1995 and 2000 will gather for special activities. The Class of ’55 will hold a 50th anniversary luncheon at Colonial Hall in Endicott.
