INSIDE BINGHAMTON UNIVERSITY
Chinese Opera at BU
The show, which begins at 8 p.m. in the Watters Theater in the Fine Arts Building, will include The Fight in the Dark at Cross-roads Inn and Xiang Yu the Conqueror Bids Farewell to His Concubine. It is one result of an April visit to campus by officials from the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts in Beijing. At 6:30 p.m., the public is invited to Studio A in the Fine Arts Building to observe the actors painting their faces in elaborate, mask-like designs unique to the Beijing Opera. There will also be a question-and-answer session with an interpreter following the performance.
Tickets are available at the Anderson Center Box Office or by calling 777-ARTS. General admission is $14; faculty, staff and seniors pay $12; students get in for $8.
