Speaker addresses King’s legacy
The University honored the late Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. with a Monday lecture by Mary Frances Berry. Her talk, titled “Social Justice Today: Making King’s Dream a Reality,” addressed King’s legacy, as well as her contributions in the advancement of human rights. Berry, who received an honorary doctorate from Binghamton in 1999, teaches at the University of Pennsylvania and has served as a commissioner on the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.
