Research Foundation honors two
Jessica Fridrich and M. Stanley Whittingham are among the 30 innovative scholars and scientists from 19 SUNY campuses who were honored by the Research Foundation of the State University of New York with its highest award for their outstanding research and scholarship at a dinner May 2.
“The work that (they) do is a fundamental part of what makes the SUNY system great, and it’s a vital part of what will make SUNY exceptional in the coming decades,” SUNY Chancellor John R. Ryan said.
FRIDRICH
Fridrich, associate professor of electric and computer engineering, has established herself as an international expert in all aspects of information hiding in digital imagery including watermarking for authentication and tamper detection, self-embedding, robust watermarking, steganography and steganalysis, forensic analysis of digital images (detection of forgeries), advanced image processing and encryption techniques.
She holds five patents, with two more in process.

He was instrumental in establishing the University’s Materials Science and Engineering Program and he was named a Fellow of the Electrochemical Society in 2004.
