The Empire State Games kick off with opening ceremonies at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, at the Events Center on campus, and volunteers are still needed for on- and off-campus support.

With about 6,000 athletes from six regions in the state competing in 23 sports, volunteers make the difference, said organizers. “We need hundreds of volunteers to be successful,” said Tim Schum, who chairs the campus committee coordinating the University’s efforts.
