INSIDE BINGHAMTON UNIVERSITY
Indie sensation Ingrid Michaelson
The Anderson Center for the Performing Arts will wind down its summer concert series with alumna Ingrid Michaelson. She will perform at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26. Michaelson, a New York City-based singer-songwriter who recently graced the cover of Billboard magazine, has had a major hit with The Way I Am. Her music has been featured on the television shows Grey’s Anatomy and One Tree Hill as well as in an advertisement for Old Navy. She graduated in 2001 with a degree in theatre. On campus, she sang with the a capella group Binghamtonics.
The Staten Island native was discovered on MySpace. (You can still find her page there, at http://www.myspace.com/ingridmichaelson.) This summer, Michaelson will perform in several festivals and tour as an opening act for the Dave Matthews Band. In Binghamton, Australian-born Ben Lee will open for Michaelson. Tickets for the concert are $25 inside reserved ($17 for students) or $17 for lawn seats ($10 for students).
