Homecoming’s 5K race to pay tribute to 2000 graduate
The Binghamton University Alumni Association will hold the Kristen Faust Inspirational 5K Run at 9:30 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 19, as part of Homecoming 2008.
The event, which is open to the public, will start and finish at the East Gym.
The race is in memory of Kristen Faust, a member of the Class of 2000 who died unexpectedly in 2006. Faust was a two-sport athlete at Binghamton, where she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and worked as a senior counselor. At the time of her death, she was training for a marathon in memory of her father.
Proceeds will benefit the Kristen Faust Memorial Fund, which provides a scholarship to a Binghamton University senior who expresses a strong commitment to social work and counseling.
The entry fee is $20 for those who pre-register and $30 on the day of the event. Those who register by Sept. 30 will receive a Faust 5K
T-shirt.
