BINGHAMTON, NY -- The Binghamton University Alumni Association will hold its second annual bowling tournament at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, January 22, at Midway Lanes in Vestal.  This event is open to the public, and has a snow date of Saturday, February 5.  Liberty Mutual, provider of the Alumni Association’s group discount insurance program, is the presenting sponsor of the event.

In this scratch singles tournament, bowlers will take part in a three-game qualifying round; the top four total scorers advance to a stepladder final.  Contestants will bowl on a “sport” pattern, similar to what is used in professional tournaments.  Based on 40 entries, this event will award $500 for first place, and about one of every five bowlers will cash.  If a bowler rolls 300 in the final round of the tournament, he or she will receive $10,000.  The top female and top senior will also win a prize.

Entry fees are $30 for Binghamton University alumni and current students; $35 for faculty and staff; and $40 for the general public.  For more information, and to register, visit the tournament website at bualumnibowling.com.
