Women Business Owners discuss personal safety

BINGHAMTON, NY – A discussion titled, “Personal Safety,” will be the topic at the next Binghamton University Small Business Development Center’s Women Business Owners (WBO) roundtable, at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites, 3615 Vestal Parkway East, Vestal, located behind the Plaza Diner.

Sergeant Laurie Sorensen, from the Endicott Police Department’s community services division will teach participants about personal and home security.

Sorensen has worked for the Endicott Police Department for 18 years, and she is the first woman to be promoted to Sergeant in their 100-year history. Sorensen is also a firearms instructor and the director of the Hostage Negotiating Team.

The roundtable costs $15 per person, payable at the door and includes a full breakfast.
