Binghamton University alumnus to discuss film industry

       Binghamton University graduate Marc Lawrence, who directed the recently released movie, “Music and Lyrics” starring Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore, will take part in an open forum at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 29, in the Anderson Center Chamber Hall.  Lawrence will discuss the film and television industry, screenwriting.


       The forum is free and open to the public.


       After graduating from Harpur with a degree in English in 1981, Marc Lawrence joined the staff of the NBC sitcom “Family Ties,” earning him several Emmy nominations.  He later went on to create the television series “Pride and Joy” for NBC and “Monty” for FOX.  Lawrence’s movie credits include 1999’s “The Out-of-Towners,” 2000’s “Miss Congeniality” and most recently “Music and Lyrics” starring Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore.
