Applications for Ross University and Community Projects Fund now available
Applications for the 2006 grant cycle of the Stephen David Ross University and Community Projects Fund are now available.
Ross, a Binghamton University faculty member, established a fund to support collaborative university-community projects that promote creative and innovative cooperation between the University and local nonprofit agencies.
Previously funded projects include a partnership between the Binghamton City School District and the University Nature Preserve, a mentoring program for adolescents, the restoration of a local bronze landmark, an interactive sculpture project, a curriculum on acceptance and respect for elementary school students, and a five-language orientation booklet for refugees.
Grant applications in the range of $5,000 to $10,000 are encouraged. In 2006, the fund will award $10,000 in grants to non-profit organizations in partnership with University units.
The application deadline is noon Friday, April 7. For details or to request an application, call the grant administrator, Cynthia Lupo at 607-777-2011 or via e-mail at clupo@binghamton.edu.
