Applications for Ross University and Community Projects now available

Applications for the 2004 grant cycle of the Stephen David Ross University and Community Projects Fund are now available.

Ross, a Binghamton University faculty member, established a fund to support collaborative university-community projects that promote creative and innovative cooperation between the University and local nonprofit agencies.

Previously funded projects include a mentoring program for adolescents, the restoration of a local bronze landmark, a curriculum on acceptance and respect for elementary school students, and an orientation booklet for refugees translated into five languages.

Grant applications in the range of $5,000 to $10,000 are encouraged. In 2004, the fund will award $10,000 in grants to non-profit organizations in partnership with University units.

The application deadline is noon, Thursday, May 27. For details or to request an application, call the grant administrator, A. Lee Nesslage at 607-777-4278 or via e-mail at nesslage@binghamton.edu.
