NYSEG sponsors Binghamton University case competition
New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG) will once again sponsor the Binghamton University School of Management’s annual MBA Case Competition from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, March 26, in room G08 of the Academic A building. The event brings together second-year MBA students for a test of their skills in the analysis and presentation of business cases.
Earlier this month, approximately 13 teams of students were given a business case to review. After a week of preparation, the teams participated in first-round judging, resulting in three teams moving to the final round.
A panel of judges selected from the business community will adjudicate the final round. The panel includes Michael Eastman, vice president of corporate performance for NYSEG; Michael J. DeStefano, partner in the New York metropolitan area of Ernst and Young LLP; Stephen VanNostrand, executive vice president of Raymond Corporation; John Saraceno, senior vice president of BSB Bank & Trust; and Laurie Linn, president of Communiqué Design and Marketing, Inc.
The judges will consider three factors in ranking the team presentations: content of the presentation, delivery and communication skills, and how well the team handles follow-up questions. The winners of the competition will be announced after the judging.
