Gift boosts sound at Binghamton University's Anderson Center

Patrons of the Concert Hall in Binghamton University's Anderson Center for the Performing Arts will enjoy a much crisper, clearer sound thanks to a major gift from community resident James Ross Rinker and the Rinker Ross Memorial Foundation.

The gift, a high quality sound system, consists of a new multi-speaker system, designed by Barney Cole of Calf Audio, Ithaca, NY. It also includes a new multi-channel mixing console, speakers, amplifiers, and electronic signal processing equipment. The system will boost the Anderson Center’s natural acoustical properties to produce a concert-quality sound reinforcement system for the Concert Theater.

The Rinker gift will also help purchase new stage curtains for the Concert Hall.

The Anderson Center, which opened in 1986, draws 100,000 people to campus each year.
