Binghamton University plans tax seminar

The Professional Development and Research (PDR) arm of Binghamton University’s School of Education and Human Development, in cooperation with the United States Internal Revenue Service and the New York State Department of Taxation, will hold an IRS Tax Practitioners’ seminar from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, December 9, at the Binghamton Regency on Water Street in downtown Binghamton.

The annual seminar will update preparers of federal and New York State tax returns with information relating to income tax changes. Topics to be covered include IRS and New York State tax updates, education credit issues, e-services updates and “no fuss” retirement plans for small business. Professional development credits will be granted for a full day of attendance.

Speakers will include tax specialists from the New York State Taxation Department and the Federal Revenue Service as well as the IRS Service Center and the Education and Communications Center.

Cost is $ 160 per person and includes the 2003 Tax Practitioner Institute manual and CD-ROM, a continental breakfast and lunch.
