Binghamton University offers Census data workshop

The Binghamton University geographical information systems (GIS) Campus Core Facility is offering a workshop on working with the latest Census data.

The session, “Census 2000: Update and Improvement of Raw Census Data,” will be offered from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, February 28, in room 217 of the Student Wing building on campus. The workshop is free and open to the public.

The workshop will offer ways to use the 2000 Census data more effectively in map and tabular format, and to re-organize the data on a topical basis such as by race, migration, employment, citizenship, status and housing. Data can also be organized by county, Metropolitan Statistical Area, zip code and census tract.

For more information or to register for the workshop, contact the GIS Core Facility at 607-777-3536, or by e-mail at giscore@binghamton.edu
