Management consultant offers tips, techniques at Binghamton University seminar

Binghamton University will bring management consultant Glenn Shepard to Syracuse for two one-day seminars to be held at the Holiday Inn Syracuse/Airport Area, 441 Electronics Parkway, Liverpool, NY.

The first seminar, “Managing Problem Employees and Difficult Supervisory Situations,” will be held on Monday, August 26, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The seminar provides a cost-effective way of learning how to handle people, problems, and priorities more efficiently while discovering the inside secrets of successful managers.

Participants will learn how to:

• Legally hire and fire

• Motivate employees

• Slash turnover

• Encourage employees to show up for work on time

• Reduce absenteeism by 50 percent

• End insubordination

• Mediate disputes between employees

• Hone in on tell tale signs on job applications that will save from hiring the wrong people.

Tuition costs are $159.

“How To Get People To Pay” will be the topic of the second one-day seminar and will be held on Tuesday, August 27, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The seminar offers bookkeepers, office managers, business owners, accountants or anyone who collects their own accounts receivables, an opportunity to:

• Learn how to make collection letters work the first time around

• Discover new strategies for getting honest answers

• Determine methods of speeding up chronic slow payers

• Search for anyone, anywhere and locate their assets

• Develop methods of collecting debt from individuals and businesses

Tuition costs are $149. This seminar earns Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits for Certified Public Accountants (CPA).

Shepard, a management consultant based in Nashville, Tennessee, will instruct both seminars. He created the material for both seminars and has facilitated the programs at a variety of venues across the United States.
