Binghamton University Scholars to host lecture on sustainable development

BINGHAMTON, NY -- The Binghamton University Scholars program will host a lecture titled "Technology for a Sustainable World" by Caroline Baillie, at 1 p.m. Monday, December 1, in Lecture Hall 9 on the University campus.  The talk is free and open to the public.

Baillie, who will discuss different views and approaches to sustainable development and its impact on society, is the Chair of Engineering Education Research and Development at Queens University in Kingston, Ontario.

Her areas of interest include chemical engineering and sociology, along with ways in which science and engineering can create solutions for the environment and social problems. In addition, Baillie has written over 160 publications, papers and books about material sciences and education.
